Bio
Vivienne Tate is multi-disciplined, visual, sound and performance artist based in Narrm (Melbourne). Her practice includes sound-based recording and performative projects, printmaking, letterpress and sculptural assemblage. She has a Bachelor of Education (Music) and an Advanced Diploma of Visual Art. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Art, Art in Public Space program at RMIT (Melbourne, Australia, 2023).
Galleries she has exhibited at include Sol Gallery in Collingwood, (Melbourne, Australia), and Fire Station Print Studio in Malvern (Melbourne, Australia). In March 2023, she participated in the Hobson’s Bay City Council, Dear Agnes Public Art Project in Altona (Melbourne, Australia). This was as a member of PIPS (with dancer Catherine Magill) in a performance and sound-based installation work.
She has had had several print residencies in Italy at the Opifico della Rosa studio in Montefiore and Baldessin Press in St Andrews in Victoria. She was short listed for the 2021 Australian Monoprint prize.
She regularly plays in several bands including Havana Palava and The Suspended Animators.
